Robin's Kitchen features an oven. It also includes a sink, stovetop, one shelf above, and one cabinet below. This basic design, full of play possibilities, is a classic. Complete your set with Kelly's Refrigerator.
Oven
The oven door opens downward on heavy duty hinges. The handle comes to rest on the floor. The open oven door on Robin's Kitchen will hold the weight of a child standing on it without impairing the stability of the kitchen or bending the hinges at all. Peek into the oven through the window. Children love to pretend to bake and this oven invites them to make all sorts of imaginary muffins, pies, cupcakes, cookies, breads, casseroles, stews, and lots more.
Sink
The sink faucet swivels. Two knobs turn imaginary water on and off. A removable metal bowl creates the sink basin. Children may pretend to wash dishes, fruits or vegetables in the sink or pour water into a kettle to prepare tea. They might remove the sink basin and use it as a bowl to carry or serve their special foods.
Stovetop and Knobs
The stovetop has four burners. Five knobs turn to control the pretend heat on each burner and the oven. The stovetop inspires children to cook with all kinds of imaginary ingredients, stirring, pouring, seasoning, making oatmeal, or boiling water for tea.
One Upper Shelf
The shelf above the sink and stovetop can display tea pots, tea cups, decorations, boxes or bottles of imaginary special ingredients, fruits, vegetables, or anything else children dream up.
One Lower Cabinet
The cabinet door swings open and closed on heavy duty hinges. Store pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils, aprons, potholders, pretend food, and so much more. Doors with hinges are always a favorite, and this cupboard invites children to take things out, put things away, sort, and organize.
Dimensions
34 inches high, 23 1/2 inches across, and 12 inches deep. Height of the counter is 23 inches.
Materials & Construction
David has been handcrafting wooden play kitchens in the USA since 1988. Robin's Kitchen is made from solid northern white pine. The back panel is formaldehyde-free, oak plywood. Exhibiting his pride in craftsmanship, David uses sturdy construction with glue and counter-sunk screws covered with wooden caps. He does not use nails or staple guns. All hinges are heavy duty. You will find smooth surfaces throughout and rounded, carefully sanded edges, handles, and knobs. Robin's Kitchen is finished with a non-toxic, natural oil that ages beautifully along with the wood. David has taken great care to assure that this is a safe toy for children. Each Robin's Kitchen is built to be an heirloom that can withstand many years of play and then can be handed down to the next generation. These are beautiful kitchens, aesthetically pleasing to grownups and children alike.
